New restaurant Ace No. 3 comes to Belmont Neighborhood
Ace No. 3 is new burger concept. Investing in the Belmont neighborhood are restaurateurs Andrew Chapman and Paul Manley. You might recognize their other restaurants The Waterman and Sea Level. Ace No.3 opened in the previous location of Siggy’s restaurant on November 5th.
Another new restaurant comes to the Belmont neighborhood just outside of center city Charlotte. The new restaurant is located at 1001 Belmont Ave., just across the street from Sweet Lew’s BBQ and a block away from Belmont’s luxury townhome development CityScape Towns. CityScape Towns brought to you by My Townhome Realty broke ground in August 2018 and will be ready for occupancy December 2019
The restauranteurs Chapman and Manley report that they “are excited to join Sweet Lew’s in this neighborhood and add to the approachable food options in the Belmont neighborhood,” Manly told a reporter from Charlotte Agenda. “If we do a good job like Lewis [Sweet Lew’s BBQ owner] and his team do, it will only add to the vibe at Belmont Avenue and Harrill Street.”
Ace No. 3 offers counter-service with minimalist approach and neighborhood hangout atmosphere. Manly says Ace No. 3 has a “very small menu but everything you would want when you are craving a great burger.” Patrons of the restaurant can expect a great mix of burgers, onion rings, fries, canned local beers, canned wine, Boozies (soft-serve milk shakes with a kick), and veggie burgers.
“It’s actually quite hard to create a concept this simple,” he said. “Every single item you use and every process you do has to have meaning and impact. It’s been a fun learning experience for our team putting Ace together.”
The restaurant is the 3rd concept opened in partnership with Andrew Chapman and Paul Manley. It is the number of restaurants that the team have opened together that gives the restaurant its name Ace No. 3. The building that is home to the restaurant is still owned by Siggy Sollitto founder of Siggy’s restaurant. Sollitto will remain as the landlord.
The restaurant design will not change much from its former look as Siggy’s. Only cosmetic changes have occurred. The communal seating inside remains and a patio with picnic tales and string lights will complement a similar look for outside dining that is currently in place at Sweet Lew’s BBQ. This is great news for the Belmont neighborhood as it continues to add to its pedestrian friendly open street vibe. Real estate developer TJ Larsen (owner of My Townhome Realty) is excited to have another great destination just one block away from his townhome project CityScape Towns which is located at the intersection of Harrill Street and Van Every Street. One of the closest homes a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath townhome is featured here 920 Van Every Street
Manly and Chapman closed by saying that they “love the neighborhood and location. [They] feel super lucky to have this opportunity to do something special here. [They] really don’t take that lightly. [They are] excited to provide an opportunity for our team that has performed so well to contribute to this passion project.”
